This weatherhead and SEU cable was "embedded" in aluminum siding with denuded phase conductors that had arc'd against the grounded aluminum siding during a recent rain storm.
Owner was unaware of the fire that could have resulted..we found out after she called us about "flickering lights" in her house.

was the seu cable jacket compromised or just the proximity to the new aluminum siding, that made the jump?
