went to do a bathroom rewire, remodel HO handed me this, he said the breaker didnt trip. I surmised that the gfci also didnt overload and open as I am under the thought that gfci's will open under overload on the load side?, but also surmised that he had miswired the recept. on the load screws that's why the ground fault didn't work, he said "oh ok hmmm". just goes to show that you cannot always assume that you are protected by these installed gfci's unless you were the installer and should always check before plugging in. I still need to ask him what were the circumstances for the melt down, also its a good phot for a whats wrong with this picture as there are two violations wrong here can anyone guess them?
