The washer is connected via a 30A isolation switch, the dryer seems to be gas and just has a BS1363 plug.

If the dryer's gas it wouldn't be pulling much power at all, hence the 13A plug. The washing machine possibly has a built-in heater.
Front loading machines are the more usual type found here.
