This piece of equipment didn’t look bad from the outside, and seemed to be operating normally. A look at the inside shows several obvious shortcomings. The motor doesn’t appear to be suited for the environment, is poorly connected (see the taped cable and exposed conductors), the power cord arrangement and the proximity of hoses carrying fluid could cause a disaster under a single fault condition (i.e. if fluid leaked into the plug configuration / motor).
